The main aim of the Society is to educate the public by studying the flora and fauna of Surrey. The Society works to bring members and all those with a love of nature into helpful communication, to secure the protection of wildlife and objects of interest to the nature student, to promote and preserve the natural beauty of the countryside, to extend and popularise the study of nature and to promote and participate in conservation projects. The Society provides a programme of indoor and outdoor activities all year round. We often lead field meetings to explore the natural world and varied landscapes of Surrey and indoor meetings with visiting speakers take place every fourth Thursday of the month, generally September-April.
